"Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and we are always exploring new product ideas and developments."

What happens when one is faced with the dilemma that one’s home 3D printer becomes too small and a commercial 3D printer, which is quite costly expensive, is unattainable? - you get a LulzBot desktop 3D printer.

3D printing or additive manufacturing process began as far back in the early 1980's. The industry has since boomed after the turn of the millennium with 3D printing becoming more accessible to the everyday user, maker and manufacturer. This was fostered by the accelerated development of the 3D Desktop printing.

The concept of conceiving an idea and converting it into a tangible prototype or product in a quick turnaround timever is now a realistic approach rather than a futuristic ideal!

 Emma-Louise Fletcher: tackling wildlife challenges

 Emma-Louise Fletcher: tackling wildlife challenges

"We are all dependent on the natural world for survival so exploring how to live more sustainably, even by making small changes; could result in you making an impact by influencing others." - Emma-Louise Fletcher.

Based at Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland, PhD student Emma-Louise Fletcher is tackling wildlife challenges head on with a thesis focussed on environmental security.

Environmental conservation is such an important sector, one which is perhaps not as highlighted as a mainstream career path, how did you enter into this field of research? Before I decided to apply for a PhD, I had worked at several jobs. Every individual is motivated differently, and I realised that I was waking up every day to invest so much time into a job for which I had no motivation for.

I left my job, and brainstormed; asking what I was passionate about and I came to an obvious conclusion, the environment! I had been following anti-poaching campaigns on social media and the news, reading up on charity and conservation work in Africa. I realised that poaching was a colossal problem that involved more than just wildlife conservation. This subject (poaching) became a gradual fascination as I began to question why there were no changes being made to protect wildlife and integrate local communities more intensively.

You know that joke where the sumo wrestler, the guy not eating spinach but is eating a heart-shaped herb walk into a bar...well this is it.

They have cool names, fight off the bad guys and seem to like to wear suits that disguise themselves! But what does Black Panther and Deadpool do to pay the rent and keep the lights on during the time when they are not being super cool superheroes. Bear in mind Black Panther is a descendant of royalty so the stuff about lights and rent etc may not apply to him!

Understanding the influence of movies in sport

Rugby (as with most sport) is a wonderful tool that shapes us for life. The very reason you are reading this, is a testimony that something about this game has ignited your passion and fuelled your spirit.

However in our society today we see a lot of people giving up on their goals, not willing to go the extra mile. In a way a general trend to look for a quick fix or the fast track to success without a willingness to apply oneself has grown.

By turning to the popular culture of films, we have now found a source to inspire and remedy the motivation needed for players to excel. Creating a better path than the aforementioned "quick fix"...

The sports industry is very much a mix of high-end action and behind the scenes administration. From managing a team, dealing with the physicality of athletes, to being an actual sports person – there is a world of career opportunities on and off the field, court or track.

While some people are talented enough to play sport, others have made it their life's work to maintain the sports industry as a whole and earn quite a living doing so.  Most of the inspiration are derived from moments on the field of play and some off the field...

Here are a few movies that we believe can inspire a career in the sports industry!
