At the young age of 23 Jonathan hasn’t let the technology age of the world take over his life, he has kept alive a real energy and passion for literature. Growing up in Johannesburg, Williams left to the “big city” to study a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Cape Town. His three years at UCT led him to major in Politics and Media Writing. His choice to read for Honours in Publishing Studies brought him back to his home city of Gauteng and in 2005 Jonathan entered the gates of Wits University.
He kept his Honours year as real as possible and worked part time at a Book Seller as well as for a University Professor. Both jobs allowed him to keep in touch with his enthusiasm for the written word. At the completion of his honours Jonathan entered the working world at Pan Macmillan South Africa. His position as the Product Controller Local Imprints means that he manages local publishing processes. This includes budgeting, scheduling, editorial, and production.“It’s the business side of books” hence Williams gets to have an awesome balance in his work life, mixing the corporate side of his life with his everyday passion(FirstStep say's Nice One!, balance is very important!)).
His future looks promising and he is definitely a person who looks forward to the various challenges that are thrown at him on a day to day basis. However his job is not all serious business, his favourite moments are when he is able to read really bad manuscripts and has a good laugh.
