Peter Sacchet: the business quest for global technology solutions

“Work on your passion, don’t repeat your mistakes, and learn something new every day...” – Peter Sacchet of groupXS Solutions

Peter Sacchet is the Founder of groupXS Solutions – a young vibrant company that has powered some lively technology solutions – their first being focused on the education sector! Their reach has quickly grown with an understanding that for every need lies a technology solution!

Where on the planet are you currently based? Ever heard of a place where people wear Lederhosen, drink lots of beer and eat pretzels all the time? That is the area we are living in. Our offices are based in Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany.

Tell us about your business and why did you start it? My business partner Tobias Hertkorn and myself have been in the software development industry for over 10 years now. Tobias finished his diploma in Physics and started to work as a software engineer for Bauer Media and Microsoft. I finished my apprenticeship as an IT system technician and blundered my way into software development afterwards. That's where I met Tobias for the first time. In Europe and Australia I worked for a couple of big automotive and insurance industry web portals. After returning from OZ, Tobias and I  developed a plan to bring people closer together and help them share important information. That is how we came up with groupXS Solutions GmbH, pronounced like group-access, which stands for access to information for small groups. (FirstStep.me says nicely done!)

What has been some of the challenges of launching or starting your own business? At the start, balancing the business development whilst at the same time having a regular job was a challenge. However at that stage of a business - you have to pay your bills somehow.

Do you believe that the future of education resources is largely based on the use of technology? Absolutely. Currently we are living in a time of high demand for immediate access to information, which applies to the education sector as well.

Where do you see your business in 5 years time? Helping to connect and engage with people all over the world.

Do you kick start your day off with a cup of coffee? Tea or coffee. Depends on the day, or to be precise, the night before. (The FirstStep.me team totally understands!)

Any funny, interesting or successful happenings that you can tell us about? The first pitch we made with our idea was a great success! So much so that we quit our well paid jobs about one month later. (FirstStep.me says awesome!)

If you could name your own planet what would you call it? Snickers as Mars was taken already.

Message to the youth of the planet? Work on your passion, don’t repeat your mistakes, and learn something new every day!
