As Ranked by BilbyandBear
City: Vernazza, Italy
Interesting website for the City: comune.vernazza.sp.it and savevernazza.com

Is it easy to navigate around the city? It is so small you can walk its main street in five minutes. Located with four other towns of similar size along Italy's "Cinque Terre" coast, it is easy to get around with the local train. 2

Hostels and Hotels (few, many, tons): Not many. There was only one hostel in the Cinque Terre when we checked. There are a few hotels and some guesthouses. All are expensive, so consider staying outside of the Cinque Terre such as La Spezia, take the train in during the day. 0.5

Best part of the city? It is a postcard image made up of beautiful pastel coloured homes and a delightful bay.

Interesting Fact: Due to the slope of the city along a hill, this city was subject to a serious landslide a few years back damaging much of its infrastructure. However it has recovered quickly enough to get its tourism running again.

Is it a good travel destination for young adventurers? Yes, but be prepared to pay the price for one of Italy's top destinations. It has a renowned coastal walk that links all five villages. 2

Climate: It has a Mediterranean climate - a mix of sea breezes and the sun most of the time.

Would you live there forever? If I was a dedicated fisherman I would. Otherwise it is too small and really only fit for tourists.

Any funny experiences whilst you were there? There was a thunderstorm and it knocked out the power for a good two hours. The village had no back-up power so we had to shower with a torch light on in cold water.

Points: 4.5 out of 6
Rating out of ten: 7.5 Lives up to its tourist hype for its natural beauty and village charm.
