Quite literally their job description is probably the biggest around. Guardians of the Galaxy.
Sorry CEO’s and MD’s out there but this is bigger than any company acquisition. Guarding the Galaxy out ranks the most incredible career descriptions imaginable.
However before our five chosen guardians became the protectors of all that we can imagine, they actually had some pretty cool, standard, odd and outlandish everyday careers!
Star-Lord (Peter Quill): A space adventurer or troublemaker of sorts – Star-Lord started out his galactic explorations with NASA as an astronaut. However it seemed that being a Lieutenant in a NASA space program wasn’t enough. He became Star-Lord, with a destiny no one could resist. I’s awesome to know that he kicked off his career as an astronaut! Find out more about a career at NASA.
Gamora: Is from the Zen-Whoberi race. She’s the last of her kind, a trained assassin by her adopted father who turned out to be evil! She is listed as an adventurer, but is kind of like the James Bond of the Galaxy in that she has a licence to kill! Not the career path we like to promote…
Drax: A high school graduate who became a saxophonist and also a real estate agent. Though it seems his superhuman powers – including strength and durability - take more of a central role in terms of being a guardian! However the artistic side and perhaps a good set of negotiation skills must come in handy when navigating through various solar systems! Our study example for a saxophonist - The Julliard School.
Rocket Raccoon: Stemmed from a genetically created set of animal people, although this very tough Raccoon is no pest. His 9 to fives include being a law officer and a caretaker. Kind of like a detective who likes to keep things clean!
Groot: His appearance takes the form of a tree, although he was once defeated by termites. This extraterrestrial being is very intelligent! He has an exceptional engineering knowledge of the quasi-dimensional superpositional – now try and say that fast three times around! He was born on Planet X and is part of a species called the Floral Colossus. He has held the career paths of being a King and a peacekeeper! Somehow a noble career path mixed with the role of a peacekeeper is fitting for that of a tree! Our career example Peace Keeping - The United Nations Peace Keeping.

An interesting mix that somehow makes sense that they are destined to protect the galaxy. Giving a true impression that no matter how important your job specification may be – you still have to start off somewhere.Kind of cheesy and clichéd ending but that is a lot better than drawing the pun of an Olive Branch and the role of Peacekeeper for Groot…
