Brilliance and being smart is one thing. Having the skills to focus on a career that serves the human nervous-system which includes the brain and spine, takes a lot more than grey matter but also hard work and dedication to the specialization of neurological surgery.

Doctor Strange, also known as Stephen Vincent Strange, takes such skills to the next level by becoming a sorcerer. Probably the best way to think of a sorcerer would be a magician with steroid enhanced skills. Therefore if one combined the likes of David Blaine and David Copperfield with the aptitude of a Medical Doctor like Doogie Howser, M.D you would just about be the value-add needed to become such a superhero.

The fusion of medical training and magical enhancements takes him to another level, however he also has the skill of time travel and thus has no need for a DeLorean. And whilst superhero Thor is also a doctor in his day job, it seems that Doctor Strange has something outlandishly awesome about his alter ego career in comparison.

The breakdown:

The University of Rochester Medical Center (urmc.rochester.edu) in New York has a structured view of the Neuro-medicine industry.

A neurosurgeon is a specialized physician who is able to administer surgical treatment and diagnose to infected or diseased areas of the peripheral and central nervous system.

A neurologist is a related career and works closely with neurosurgeons with treating disorders of the nervous system. One distinction as well is that a neurologist does not perform surgery.

You can find more details directly off the University of Rochester Medical Center –  UR Medicine Highland Hospital website - What is a Neurosurgeon?

How to become a Magician or a Wizard or a Sorcerer:
It would require a career in the entertainment industry and outside of the Harry Potter jokes, there are actual Magician schools which individuals can attend. Get onto Google and search away for credible options. Other options include becoming an apprentice to a magician in order to enter this field of skills. Also check out The Magic Circle a British organisation which looks to the advancement of the art of magic.
