Twenty inspirational teenagers added to the national HIP2B² equation

Twenty Grade 10 learners from across the country recently made the cut as 2011 Brand Ambassadors for the youth brand HIP2B2, an initiative founded by Mark Shuttleworth in 2002, which seeks to stimulate interest in science-, maths- and technology-related subjects as well as develop entrepreneurial skills.

USB Executive Development (USB-ED) has partnered with ACCA SA to present the Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner (CSAP) Qualification, the first internationally recognised professional qualification in the field of sustainability assurance. 
 
The qualification aims to:  
make it easier for organisations to identify competent and credible assurance expertise  
enable practitioners to develop, validate and communicate their competence in a systematic manner  
improve stakeholder confidence in the expertise of sustainability assurance professionals engaged by organisations
There are three grades of the qualification: Associate Practitioner, Practitioner and Lead Practitioner.

The global economic recovery, which has been slowing down in the past few months, has now gone into reverse, according to a worldwide survey of finance professionals by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).The results of ACCA’s Global Economic Conditions survey for the fourth quarter of 2010, show that twice the number of accountants as compared with the previous quarter (28% as opposed to 14%) believe that the recovery is slipping away.

Global accountancy body launches a new suite of awards that offers maximum flexibility and maximum employability.ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has launched Foundations in Accountancy, a new flexible suite of entry-level awards, designed to meet the needs of both students and employers.
 
Foundations in Accountancy was created after detailed consultation with employers, learning providers, members, students and other professional accountancy bodies and regulators.

The 2010 awards ceremony for winners and special achievements in the challenge, oozed class and a kind of twinkle that gives young South Africans the kick start that is much needed.
